She uses Instagram to broach conversations around taboo topics such as women's sexuality and body image.

For centuries, women have been conditioned to follow unwritten rules around their bodies. Menstrual health and hygiene are uncomfortable topics that are almost never addressed in Indian homes. Private Matters is one of the many Instagram accounts helping reshape the way we understand and address these issues.

On International Women’s Day, Apurva Joshi, founder of Private Matters, joined us to share why she’s busting myths and destigmatizing issues related to women’s bodies on social media.

Watch her discuss how she uses Instagram to help women identify the biases they’ve been living with and create conversations around taboo topics to empower women to embrace self-love and develop positive mental health.
