Tips to keep in mind while dealing with the financial implications of having a loved one hospitalized.
As India battles a second wave of COVID-19 infections, citizens have been running from pillar to post to arrange for hospital beds, medicines and oxygen for their loved ones as cases reach an all-time high and the death toll mounts.
Adding to this chaos are the time consuming and complicated procedures involved in claiming insurance and managing finances, especially with differing state, hospital and insurance policies.
Here are some tips to keep in mind while dealing with the financial implications of having a loved one hospitalized with COVID-19.

Ask the hospital if you have to pay additionally for medicines, injections or tests. If yes, make a tentative list of extra costs and check if insurance money will be sufficient to cover it all.#COVID19 #India

In case of inadequate or no insurance, look at whether you can tap into your savings, get help from family and friends, or can crowdfund.
If you are in a position to, you can also apply for personal loans but please keep in mind that will take time to process.#COVID19 #India
